The Prostitutes

The Prostitutes are back! The Prostitutes is a Czech indierock band formed in 2004 in Prague. The band became famous for their raw sound inspired by the British post-punk scene and energetic concerts. Their debut album Get Me Out Of Here (2006) was a success, winning numerous domestic awards and helping them gain a wider fan base. Their second album Hometown Zombies (2009) was one of the highlights of the year and is still cherished by generations of fans today. The third full-length album was produced by Martin Glover, a member of Killing Joke and collaborator with Paul McCartney, The Cult and Depeche Mode. The band's most recent album to date is the site-specific Zum Passer, recorded in an abandoned hotel in the Ore Mountains. Among their best known songs are Sunshine, Leave It Like It Is and Heart Of Stone. The band has undergone several line-up changes, but has always maintained its distinctive sound. After thirteen years on the scene, they retired in 2017, only to return this year in even greater force. After seven years of hibernation, they got down to business.

The band began working on new material and planning club and festival shows in the summer of 2024. The Prostitutes are now a six-piece band, with the last lineup from 2017 (Adrian T. Bell, Martin Destroyer, Stevie LFO, LukSantiago, Jan Vegy Táborský) joined by Ladislav Tobiášek on bass. Vegy has newly taken up the guitar. After the sold-out concert at the Roxy, the band is about to finish their new full-length album, which will be preceded by the gradual release of several more singles. The single Inevitably Delayed has appeared on a number of music podcasts and charts.
