Project Plzeň1945 - Camp of the 2nd Infantry Division

Come back with us to May 1945 and get a glimpse into the everyday life of the American soldiers who brought freedom to Pilsen. In the authentically recreated field camp of the 2nd Infantry Division, you will see what the unit's facilities looked like shortly after the end of the war - from the military tents to the personal gear and equipment to the technology the soldiers used.

You will meet the soldiers at rest, during training and in the performance of routine tasks that ensured the operation of the unit. The exhibition will also include guided demonstrations of equipment and gear, the opportunity to view period vehicles and weapons, and to engage in conversation with members of military history clubs who will tell the stories of the division's members and the atmosphere of the early post-war days.
