Project Plzeň 1945 - Camp of the 109th Evacuation Hospital

The reconstruction of the 109th Evacuation Hospital in Pilsen is an exceptional project of world importance. For the first time, such a large camp will be built, including various parts of a war hospital. The project involves 50 reenactors from all over Europe and the USA, who together will revive the 109th Evacuation Hospital.

Parts of the hospital that will be visible:
Headquarters
patient intake and triage
pre-op and OR tent
lab
sterilization tent
patient wards
American Red Cross rest tent
housing tents for nurses, officers and soldiers
chaplain's tent
field kitchen
vehicle park with ambulance shop
Post Exchange (PX) - small shop, where soldiers and nurses could buy basic necessities.

Tour participants will not just passively walk around the exhibits as they would in a museum, but will walk step by step with a guide through the journey of a wounded soldier. They will visit different parts of the field hospital, where members of our team will take on the roles of the staff. In this way, they will learn more about the work of doctors, surgeons, nurses and ordinary soldiers. An interesting feature will be the tent of the field chaplain and the Red Cross, which have been instrumental in the good morale of the patients and medical staff. We guarantee an engaging and lively experience.
