The city of Pilsen has launched Klatovská třída 19 bulding reconstruction. In two years, it will be transformed into a unique museum for tourists from all over the world.
Part of the exhibition will be a rennovated Sherman tank that was acquired by the grandson of General George S. Patton, George Patton Waters.
As part of the reconstruction, a new courtyard extension will be created, plus a new experiential exhibition dedicated to the liberation of the city. The iprovements will also concern Loos’s interior on the first floor.
In addition to the liberation, the multimedia exhibition will also focus on veterans who returned to Pilsen after 1990.
For the reconstruction, the city of Pilsen received a grant of 54.4 million crowns from the European program IROP (Integrated Regional Operational Program) through ITI (Integrated Territorial Investment). A total of 210.5 million crowns including VAT will be invested.
The organisation Visit Plzeň in cooperation with Patton Memorial Pilsen is entrusted with the preparation of the exhibitions.
