It should have been a spectacular event with a unique Earth & Air WWII battle demonstration at the Líně airport, a huge military history spectacle. The cultural program was supposed to be dominated by the BBC symphony Big Band, as well as traditional popular military reenactment camps.

It should have been an extraordinary opportunity to say thank you to those who liberated Pilsen 75 years ago, the American and Belgian soldiers of the 3rd US Army of General George S. Patton. For the first time in 31 years, the citizens of Pilsen will not see WWII veterans who come on a year basis to commemorate the joyful faces and gratitude of the people in May 1945, and to honor the memory of their contemporaries who died when fighting for our freedom.

See you next year, when it will be 75 + 1.
